The transfer portal saga involving former FSU football quarterback Luke Kromenhoek has ended for now.
Kromenhoek entered the transfer portal a week ago, citing the need to go to a place where he could be developed.
Ironically, the only team who came calling was Mississippi State, a team that finished 2-10, just like FSU in 2024.
Also, Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby runs an offense that's similar to Mike Norvell and Gus Malzahn. The claim he wanted to go to somewhere to get developed for the next level was a joke.

Yep, wasn’t about money but about being “developed” 😂 miss me with that. It was about money. I don’t even fault him either, just don’t lie on fsu acting like you can’t develop, to go to a different 2-10 team with Jeff leby

Mississippi State had poor quarterback play in 2024, with freshman Michael Van Buren completing less than 55 percent of his passes and fewer than 2,000 passing yards in 10 games. He entered the transfer portal after the season.
Luke Kromenhoek didn't want FSU to bring in a transfer portal quarterback and sit for a year to develop. When he knew FSU would bring in a portal QB, it's reported his camp asked for more compensation, and FSU didn't think he was worth that much.
Why would they give someone more money to sit on the bench? I think the Kromenhoek family thought Luke would command more interest if he entered the portal but were mistaken. Mississippi State was the only school to show interest, and he never visited Georgia or Penn State, schools that courted him hard before signing with FSU.
Jeff Lebby was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma when Luke was in high school and didn't offer Kromenhoek until December 2022, when Kromenhoek had been committed to FSU for nine months.
The Kromenhoek's deny it's about money, and about development. However, Jeff Lebby isn't known for putting quarterbacks in the NFL, and Mississippi State is annually at the bottom of the SEC.
Ironically, former FSU commit Chris Parson was commited to FSU when Kromenhoek committed. Parson ultimately signed with Mississppi State and entered the transfer portal after the 2024 season.
