FSU football: Breaking down the Luke Kromenhoek transfer portal saga
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football fans can't have anything nice. Fans were riding high off the strong close during the Early Signing Period last week, and several quality coaches were added to the staff.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, and FSU was already in the mix with several targets, while several non-productive players exited the program into the portal.
It finally felt like FSU was heading in the right direction. Then, the news of freshman quarterback Luke Kromenhoek expecting to enter the transfer portal broke on social media.
There were initial reports from Noles247 that Kromenhoek and the family were negotiating with FSU and asking for more money, up to seven figures. However, another outlet spoke with Kromenhoek's dad, and they denied that initial report.
There were rumblings about Kromenhoek possibly entering the portal, but I didn't take them seriously. After all, he played in six games and started the final two, so it was clear he'd be part of the long-term plans after surpassing redshirt freshman Brock Glenn on the depth chart.
As always, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Let's break it down.
