The cost of tickets for today's Miami-Texas A&M CFP first-round game had been going for about $300 on the secondary market this week.

But for these FSU fans, the opportunity to be at Kyle Field to root against the Hurricanes was priceless.ย

There's no conference loyalty when it comes to rivals

The history of the FSU-Miami rivalry has been explored many times and despite being in the same conference and going up against an opponent from the hated SEC, there's nearly zero chance that any self-respecting Seminoles fan is going to root for the Hurricanes to win today and continue a march toward a potential championship.

With FSU going through a down period over the past couple of seasons, it makes Miami's resurgence even tougher to deal with. Hurricanes fans have been relentless on FSU for its struggles and the questionable decision to retain Mike Norvell for another season.ย

Has Miami won an ACC football title yet?

Despite being a conference member for over 20 years, the Miami Hurricanes have yet to win an ACC title. Over that period of time, FSU has won ACC titles in 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2023. When Miami entered the conference, their fans were quick to say that the ACC should be named the "All Canes Conference", but the Hurricanes have only played in one conference championship game, a 38-3 loss to Clemson in 2017.ย

It's also worth mentioning that Duke has more ACC football than Miami since the Hurricanes joined the conference. The Blue Devils have also played in twice as many ACC Championship games.

Right now it's tough sledding being a fan of FSU football. The Seminoles aren't exactly instilling a lot of confidence in the fanbase about the possibilities of a turnaround in 2026 or a turnaround under Norvell in general. But despite those frustrations, these brave fans didn't think twice when making the choice to go to Kyle Field so they could watch their rival suffer in person. That commitment should be applauded.ย
