Florida State basketball (4-1) will return to action on Tuesday night inside the Tucker Center as the Noles host Cal State Bakersfield (3-3). FSU will be looking for its third consecutive win in front of the home crowd.

The Noles are -24.5 betting favorites, with the under/over points total at 157.5. Those odds imply a 91-66 FSU win. The Roadrunners are winless (0-3) on the road and have lost two of their last three.

Cal State Bakersfield has three guys averaging in double figures, but they shoot poorly as a team at 41.9 percent overall. They only shoot 69 percent from the free-throw line and 29.7 percent from the three-point line. They rebound decently, averaging 13.5 turnovers per game.

This should be another game where FSU uses its defense to force turnovers to create offensive opportunities in transition. The Noles struggled in that area in the last game. The hope is that the Noles will use this game as an opportunity to continue to build depth and continue to define roles, as the competition levels are about to increase significantly over the next few games. FSU will have a quick turnaround with a home game against Texas A&M on Friday evening.

We’ll be looking for good shot selections on offense, limited turnovers, solid rebounding, and good free-throw shooting. These are the areas FSU needs to hone in on the most as the competition improves. FSU has all five of its starters averaging in double figures.

The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will air on the ACCNX channel.
