FSU baseball (3-0) defeated James Madison 10-0 in eight innings on Sunday to sweep the three-game series to open the 2025 season.
The bats came alive in the last two games after getting off to a slow start in the opening game.
The offense did it all over the three-game stretch, hit home runs, stole bases, and ran them aggressively. FSU is hitting .302 as a team, with five home runs, 14 walks, and 25 strikeouts. The latter is something FSU will need to reduce, but they took better approaches in the last two games compared to the first. FSU was also 9 of 9 in stolen base attempts.

However, it was the FSU pitching that stole the show.
FSU starting pitchers went 15.2 innings and allowed zero earned runs, five hits, 23 strikeouts, and two walks. The bullpen was just as dominant, with James Madison only scoring two runs in the three-game series.
