FSU baseball (39-14) took care of business with a 6-2 win over Bethune-Cookman in the first game of the Tallahassee Regional.

Max Williams, Myles Bailey, and Chase Williams hit home runs, and the bullpen pitched six scoreless innings in relief of Joey Volini after a lengthy weather delay. Volini only threw 45 pitches and could be available if needed later in the regional I'd suppose.

FSU dodged a bullet after Bethune-Cookman threatened in the top of the first inning but came away empty. The Noles responded with a home run by Max Williams in the bottom of the first, and Chase Williams hit his home run in the bottom of the second for a 2-0 lead.

However, Bethune-Cookman responded with a two-out two-strike hit to tie the game 2-2 before the weather game in.

The game resumed after over an hour's delay, and it was all Noles after that. Myles Bailey continued his torrid hitting pace with a two-run home run. James Hankerson had an RBI groundout, and Myles Bailey walked and scored on a wild pitch to finish the scoring in the bottom of the eighth.

The Noles will face Mississippi State on Saturday night and will throw their ace Pico Kohn against FSU. The Bulldogs defeated the No. 2 seed Northeastern Huskies 11-2. Northeastern and Bethune-Cookman will play in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon.

In other news, Oregon State lost their opening game in their regional and will face TCU in the loser's bracket. If Oregon State loses another game and FSU wins their regional? FSU will host Super Regionals for the second consecutive year.

FSU has work to do, but their path to make a return to the College World Series would be much easier should they host Super Regionals. The Noles will go with their ace, Jamie Arnold, on Saturday. It should be an electric atmosphere in Dick Howser Stadium on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET
