FSU football will open the 2025 season with a massive game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. It's one of the most important season openers in recent memory for the Noles.

They are nearly a two-touchdown betting underdog at home. They don't have to win the game, but if they can keep it competitive, that would be a massive step in the right direction.

Former FSU star quarterback Jordan Travis announced he'll come home to attend the game on his X account on Saturday afternoon.

I wish he could suit up, but having his presence on the sideline should provide good vibes to the team. I'm sure Mike Norvell will have him speak to the team or at least Thomas Castellanos before the game.

Jordan Travis is the epitome of someone putting in the work and gaining the respect of his teammates. He developed more as a college quarterback between 2020-2022 than any player I can recall, and I think FSU quarterback coach Tony Tokarz is attempting to create the same magic with Castellanos.

They have similar skillsets, and Tokarz spoke about not trying to do too much, playing smart to give the team a chance to win. That's precisely what Jordan Travis did when he helped lead the Noles to a 22-3 record over the 2022-23 seasons.

Jordan Travis was selected by the NY Jets in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, he had to retire earlier this year because the injury that ended his career at FSU in November 2023 never fully recovered with rehab.

Many fans would love to see Jordan Travis return to Tallahassee in some coaching capacity and Mike Norvell seemed open to the possibilities when asked about it recently. No matter what happens, Jordan Travis will always be welcomed home when he wants to come. Hopefully, he can bring some good luck against Alabama later this month.
