One of the things that has always frustrated me as an FSU fan is the feeling of disconnect with the program and its former standout players at times. Sure, some players come back to Tallahassee every now and then for special events, but it never feels like a consistent effort.

I guess that’s what made Saturday’s win over Alabama that much better since the Noles were expected to lose by nearly two touchdowns. There were tons of former players posting on social media about the game, and some were on the sidelines. Check out what some of the best players in FSU history had to say about the game:

Thoughts

FSU couldn’t have picked a better time to win a game of that magnitude. It was a packed house in a newly renovated stadium with over 100+ recruits in the stands. The atmosphere was ELECTRIC, and I could hear the War Chant on my television for nearly the entire game. It felt like a dream after watching last year’s debacle.

FSU already obtained one commitment from Jonah Winston, the younger brother of Jameis Winston. I’d have to think that win moved the needle with quite a few of those top guys they had on campus.

However, a win like that will surely have the former players more invested in the results. It can’t hurt to have guys like Jalen Ramsey, Dalvin Cook, Derwin James, Jordan Travis, Trey Benson, Jared Verse, and tons of others involved with the program. I hope to see more of this moving forward with the continued success.

FSU will have a shot to go into the Miami game undefeated, and if that’s the case, I already know that game will have all of the former players engaged!
