Florida State whipped Alabama in its 31-17 win. It was a completely different team from the FSU we saw in 2024. Folks asked what made this team different than last year, and I gave six massive reasons about a week ago. I think they’ll start believing me now.
It was easy to see that FSU upgraded at both coordinator positions and added some talent from the transfer portal to join some of the young talent on the roster from a year ago. Was it enough to beat Alabama? Nobody thought so, but most thought it would be a close game because Alabama had some questions at quarterback and other areas going into the game.
If you add that FSU had all offseason to prepare for Alabama, and it was a home game, and some luck, some figured FSU might pull off the upset if Alabama turned it over a few times and FSU played clean.
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was under pressure for most of the night, missed some throws, and made other bad decisions that won’t show up in the box score.
