Former FSU quarterback standout hints at a large announcement soon

I think I have an idea of what it will be.

The life of Jordan Travis has had so many twists and turns over the last five or six years, it’s not funny. Jordan Travis went from an afterthought on the roster with Willie Taggart as the head coach to the savior of Mike Norvell’s job in a two-year span, even though it seemed Travis wasn’t going to be the guy for Norvell at one point.

Fast-forward a couple of more years, and Jordan Travis is one of the most beloved former Noles in recent history, and he helped deliver the first ACC Championship in a decade. However, a severe leg injury ended his FSU career, and ultimately his dreams of playing in the NFL after getting drafted in the fifth round by the NY Jets.

Jordan Travis announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, and many have wondered what was next. Some people have voiced that they’d like to see him coaching in Tallahassee with FSU football. FSU head coach Mike Norvell seemed open to providing an opportunity to coach in FSU if that was something Jordan Travis wanted to do.

Jordan Travis made this announcement below earlier on Monday:

I know the first thing folks will say is he’s going to coach at FSU, or potentially coach with former FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham, who is the head coach at Arizona State. However, my best guess is he plans to enter the world of broadcasting like former FSU quarterback EJ Manuel or Danny Kanell. His brother, Devon Travis, is an analyst, and he tagged him in the social media post.

I think it would be a solid career move for the former FSU standout. I know everybody thinks he’d be a great coach, but he literally has no coaching or recruiting experience. He’d likely need to start as a graduate assistant and work his way up, similar to former Nole standout Ernie Sims.

I’m sure Travis will excel in whatever it is, and I’m happy he may have found what’s next for him.
