Florida State football had a productive day in the transfer portal window, with Troy interior offensive lineman Paul Bowling committing to the Seminoles on Wednesday.

The fan base was excited to add another offensive lineman to the fold to bolster assistant coach Herb Hand's position group. Many individuals forget how important it is to build through the trenches. Even though one of Florida State's biggest rivals is Miami, they understood the importance of the trenches, and they were a big part in helping the Hurricanes reach the playoffs.

Overall, the offensive line plays a significant role in helping the quarterback position stay upright. Much of the discussion centers on which signal-caller the Seminoles select, but their remaining health also matters tremendously.

This quarterback is dealing with so much adversity

Head football coach Mike Norvell has brought in several quarterbacks to Tallahassee during his time here. The fan base thought that former four-star prospect Luke Kromenhoek would be the savior of Norvell's tenure and allow him to hoist championship trophies.

However, Kromehoek transferred after his true freshman season at Florida State in 2024. Then he transferred to Mississippi State after the drama of wanting more resources just to become a third-string quarterback.

Then, this offseason, Kromenhoek transferred from Mississippi State to South Florida. Fans thought that this move would allow him to be a starter for first-year head football coach Brian Hartline.

In the words of Lee Corso, "Not so fast, my friends!"

On3's Hayes Fawcett announced on Wednesday afternoon that LSU transfer quarterback Michael Van Buren would be transferring to South Florida as well.

I actually feel bad for Kromenhoek because he just can't seem to catch a break. It is unfortunate because he had so much potential coming out of high school, and he just wanted to be a collegiate starter. However, it looks like he will have to face adversity again.
