Florida State football has had exceptional former players who have made their presence known in the National Football League. I mentioned that the Seminoles have wide receiver Johnny Wilson, defensive end Josh Sweat, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, and defensive tackle Fabien Lovett Sr. involved in the Super Bowl.
I thought that Sweat would probably have the most impact on the game since he has had eight sacks in the regular season for the Eagles. The talented pass rusher was a former five-star prospect that suffered a significant injury that many individuals doubted his ability as a player.
While he wasn't a super productive player with the Seminoles, he still had 14.5 sacks in three seasons and was drafted with the 130th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Once he gained more confidence in himself, he had 43 sacks in seven seasons with the Eagles.
Sweat has wasted no time in making an impact in the Super Bowl matchup versus the Chiefs.
Even when the defensive end isn't making the sack, he is still making an impact on the game. That is why a pass rusher is so valuable in today's football. Sweat is having himself a gem of a game as the Philadelphia Eagles lead the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 24-0.
Sweat has four tackles (which leads the team) and 1.5 sacks with two quarterback hits. He is gaining a ton of traction with potentially earning Super Bowl MVP honors.
That would be an incredible selling point for the Seminoles on the recruiting trail with a former player winning Super Bowl MVP.
