Former FSU defensive back fans won't miss commits to place that fits like a glove

He'll fit right in there.

FSU football had nearly 40 players enter the transfer portal over the past week. Most of them are waiting to find a new home, while others have found homes at lesser programs.

One player that most FSU fans were glad to see enter the portal found a new home on Saturday afternoon. Former FSU defensive back Edwin Joseph committed to Ole Miss:

If you want to talk about a perfect fit? The Ole Miss secondary allowed 237 passing yards and 6.92 yards per attempt per game over the final five games in the 2025 season.

Edwin Joseph had some productivity, but the three interceptions he had were passes literally thrown to him or off a tip. The biggest issue was his attitude and undisciplined play. It’s arguable that FSU lost the Stanford game because of that issue. Joseph got called for an offside penalty that extended a drive, only to give up a passing touchdown on the very next play.

The way the Ole Miss secondary looked in the late part of the season, he’ll fit like a glove. He’ll make a play every now and then. It’s not like he’s not talented, but it’s his attitude that made him an addition by subtraction when he announced he planned to enter the transfer portal. FSU has already added a portal player who could be his replacement.

It caught my attention when he took a visit to Texas, but it wasn’t surprising that he signed somewhere like Ole Miss. Maybe he’ll go there and ball out, but the chances FSU will face him are zero unless it's in a bowl game or the postseason.
