Former FSU baseball standout Cal Raleigh will not stop hitting home runs. The man is possessed as he set the American League record for the most home runs before the All-Star Break with a two-run home run performance on Friday night.

Raleigh hit a solo shot in the top of the eighth and a grand slam in the top of the ninth of the Mariner's win over the Detroit Tigers.
Raleigh is only one home run off of the pace Barry Bonds set in 2021 with 39 before the All-Star Break. He will have a chance to tie or break that record when they play the Detroit Tigers again on Saturday afternoon.
Raleigh is hitting .264 with 38 home runs and 81 RBI. His first-half season performance is already good enough for a former professional baseball pitcher to say he'd take Raleigh over Aaron Judge if the votes had to be cast today.
Raleigh's bat and defensive glove are a big reason the Seattle Mariners are in the hunt right now. Raleigh doesn't have much firepower around him, and I'm surprised teams still pitch to him as much since they don't have much in the lineup to protect him.
The crazy part to me is that Raleigh never hit more than 34 home runs in a season before now and has already surpassed that amount with ease.
Raleigh projects to hit 65 home runs with 140 RBI. He's on pace to obliterate his career-high RBI total from a season ago. He's more than just a hitter. He is one of the best defensive catchers in the game to.
He is one of eight players to participate in the HR Derby during the All-Star Break and is the betting favorite to win it. Tune in next week to see if he can put on a show with the long ball!
