Florida State football is in a little bit of a rough patch under head coach Mike Norvell's guidance. They have had four losing seasons in six years. Everyone has been doubting Norvell's ability to lead in 2026, with him being on a ton of people's hot-seat lists.
The Seminoles had success when former quarterback Jordan Travis was under center, where they had a combined 23-4 record in 2022 and 2023. This is where Florida State fans want and desire to get back to one day.
However, the program has to do a better job of evaluating talent via the transfer portal and high school recruiting. It is nice to see that the 2025 and 2026 classes have talented prospects, but they need to continue to keep that success going.

There has been a narrative out there about Mike Norvell that he cannot win without the services of Jordan Travis. When evaluating the numbers with and without Travis, it is difficult to argue against the claim. However, the Seminoles eventually have to break through the signal-caller drought.
Florida State has brought in a transfer quarterback each of the past three seasons, and also has homegrown recruit Kevin Sperry battling it out. The lack of quarterback success, that can hinder the Seminoles' ability to get talented prospects at the high school level.
Florida State has scheduled official visits for four-star prospects Israel Abrams and Champ Monds IV. Then, the Seminoles have looked to pick up communications with three-star UCF commit Logan Flaherty with his recent unofficial visit.

Baker was someone that the coaching staff was involved with, and he did unofficially visit the Seminoles, but it didn't look like Florida State was fully pursuing his services. However, that could change soon.
