NFL training camp is underway for all teams, which means fans starved of football have at least a little bit of content to watch until both the college and pro seasons begin. For one former Florida State Seminole, he just gave Jacksonville Jaguar fans and FSU fans some great content with the play he made in training camp.
Jarrian Jones was guarding Jags' young star wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and made an absolutely crazy interception that honestly doesn't make a lot of sense when you watch it. In the video posted from training camp, Jones is guarding Thomas Jr. pretty tightly, and it seems as though the young wide receiver catches the ball, but i the end Jones brings his hand down with enough force to strip the ball with one hand out of Thomas' arms.

Jones played it cool after the highlight reel play, just watching off smoothly from the field, but let's not kid ourselves that was an amazing play. Jones is only getting ready to play in his second season in the NFL, just like Thomas. In his rookie season, Jones played in all 17 games and had 40 total tackles, 30 solo tackles, two sacks, eight passes defended, and one interception.
Jones was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the 96th overall pick.
Going into his second season, Jones could be in line to get even more playing time and become a real leader on the Jags' defense. For being a "hometown" kid in a sense, coming from Florida State, Seminole fans certainly are happy with what they are seeing from the young cornerback.
For Jones to make an interception on that type of play shows just how far he has come in the last year. The ball was thrown exactly where the receiver typically likes it, and Thomas had a really good read on the ball. For Jones to be able to strip the ball the way he did is a great sign for his career.
