Florida State football is the place that legendary Bobby Bowden built. When he retired after the 2009 season, the Seminoles turned to their head coach in-waiting, Jimbo Fisher. It seems like the program didn't skip a beat with Coach Fisher as they captured a national championship in 2013.
The program has not been the same since Fisher left the program for Texas A&M at the conclusion of 2017. It was a bitter era to what was such a great eight-year run. However, Fisher's time in College Station did not last long either, and he was relieved of his duties with Texas A&M after a while.
Fisher left a bad taste in the Seminole faithful's mouths in leaving for a new job at Texas A&M. He was seen as money hungry, as a program at the time didn't have the success but had the resources. This was the beginning of the end for the landscape of college football coaches.
Jimbo Fisher set the foundation for coaches like Lane Kiffin
One of the bigger storylines in college football for coaches is that head football coach Lane Kiffin decided not to coach the Ole Miss Rebels in the playoffs, and elected to join LSU early with the transfer portal window open.
Understandably, Kiffin wanted to get a head start on his job, since the transfer portal window is so short that it ends on January 16th. However, the issues arise because Ole Miss is in the playoff semifinal, playing against the Miami Hurricanes.
With Jimbo Fisher working for the ACC Network now to have a way to express his opinion around college football, he talked on Wednesday afternoon about his thoughts on Lane Kiffin not allowing some of his coaches (who were on Ole Miss) to coach in the playoff game today against Miami.
βItβs selfish. Itβs stupid.β

This has to be funny to Florida State football fans to hear Jimbo Fisher say that what Lane Kiffin is doing is selfish and stupid. This is coming from the same coach who was thought to leave his 2017 Florida State team high and dry, where he allegedly was checking out after getting attention by SEC schools.
Nonetheless, it is insane that Lane Kiffin is not allowing his coaches to help in the playoff, and Florida State football fans might not hear the end of the Miami Hurricanes potentially going to the championship game.
