Former Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher is a polarizing figure in Seminoles' history. Make no mistake about it, Coach Fisher is a national championship-winning coach in Tallahassee, but the fan base is salty about the way that he left for the Texas A&M Aggies for the massive contract.
No one can blame him for the life-changing money, but many individuals think about what could have been if Jimbo Fisher stayed in Tallahassee. Former Florida State fullback Freddie Stevenson has created a platform to share his perspective through his platform "Trials to Triumph".

With that said, something caught my eye about the sit-down where Jimbo Fisher could've won the national championship in 2012 if defensive back/returner Greg Reid had not been dismissed. It is something that Coach Fisher likely didn't want to do, but he dismissed Greg Reid.
That’s crazy Jimbo admitting what I always believed… If we had Greg Reid in 2012, we win the national championship! pic.twitter.com/tF40VI7k6I

Reid was a defensive and special-teams nightmare for teams as he recorded 120 tackles (four for loss), three forced fumbles, seven interceptions, and 25 pass breakups, while he also had over 2,600 kickoff/punt return yards and three special-teams touchdowns during his three-year career.
I know that the 2013 team gets talked about by the fan base because of the national championship victory, but that 2012 version was special, too. Quarterback EJ Manuel had that team rolling (I wonder if they had Jameis Winston instead) and a great defense that was aggressive.
The road loss to North Carolina State was inexcusable, but if Greg Reid were on the team, maybe he would have made a big special-teams play, a massive hit, or an interception to change the perspective of the outcome. Then, I believe that the Florida contest could have been different with an undefeated Florida State squad entering a pivotal rivalry game.
