Florida State wide receiver Deuce Spann enters the transfer portal
Florida State has not done well this season, as they have a record of 2-9. The Seminoles still have one more game remaining on its schedule with the arch-rival Florida Gators. Most of the fan base wants to forget this year even happened.
Head football coach Mike Norvell has to deal with the adversity after finishing with an undefeated record and a conference championship in 2023. Most individuals thought that the program would take another step this year, but that was the furthest thing from the truth.
Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has been relieved of his duties with the Seminoles. With the team performing horribly this year, it is reasonable to expect some of the players deciding to enter the transfer portal.
One player who decided to enter was redshirt senior wide receiver Deuce Spann. The 6'4" former Illinois transfer was picked up in the portal when the Seminoles had a haul of him, Micah Pittman, Johnny Wilson, and Winston Wright Jr.
According to a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz, Spann has elected to enter the transfer portal. The wide receiver only appeared in four games this season for the program. It was not like he was playing much this season since he only had one reception for five yards.
Spann was an intriguing prospect with his size. Some of the fan base thought that he had the potential to be groomed and developed, but he never developed into much of a contributor. His two shining moments in his career were the kickoff return touchdown versus Duke in 2023 and having Norvell chew him out after a personal foul penalty in the 2022 Miami game.
Nonetheless, I wish Spann nothing but the best in the next chapter of his career.
