The 2026 season has been an interesting one thus far for Florida State after struggling to finish against New Mexico State, delaying kickoff because of a power outage, and firing the athletic director. The Seminoles will now need to break out of the bye week funk and head straight into the heart of SEC country to face No. 10 Alabama.

Florida State played the part of the hero last season during the opening game of the season against a ranked Alabama squad. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos and company led the Seminoles to a 31-17 win inside Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles, without the help of Castellanos, must now travel to Tuscaloosa to play arguably the harder half of the series.

The first two games of the season have not been the best for new starting quarterback Ashton Daniels after transferring to Tallahassee. Daniels has had a week to try to improve upon some of the issues he has had in practice, and now the quarterback will have a chance to secure revenge.

Daniels recorded 259 passing yards and 108 rushing yards against the Crimson Tide during the 2025 season as a member of the Auburn Tigers in a 27-20 loss. A completely new setting for Daniels could mean a winning result, but the confidence surrounding Daniels is not exactly high, even with the familiarity.
