Florida State sports had a monster weekend to end February on a high note

It’s almost springtime, which means there are multiple sports overlapping at Florida State. Basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, track and field, and more are competing.

Basketball is finishing the season strong, and most of the spring sports have gotten off to a strong start. The end of February saw multiple sports get wins to end the month on a high note:

The Noles took care of business against a team they were supposed to beat at home. If they win at least one of their final two games, they'll finish this season with a better ACC record than last season. Pittsburgh upsetting California on Saturday gives FSU a chance to be the No. 8 seed if the win their last two games.

Makenna Reid looks like she's found a form close to when she exploded on the scene as a freshman

FSU softball won its doubleheader against Rutgers in exciting fashion. Jaysoni Beachum hit a two-run home run to walk it off in game one. Makenna Reid got out of a bases loaded one out jam to provide Beachum with the opportunity for the game winner in the bottom of the seventh. FSU softball won the second game 5-1.

FSU baseball swept its doubleheader against The Citadel on Saturday, with Myles Bailey putting a ball in play to walk it off with the bases loaded. FSU won the first game 6-2 behind another strong performance from Wes Mendes. Trey Beard made his Dick Howser debut in the garnet and gold, going five innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and six strikeouts.

FSU Men's Indoor Track and Field brought some new hardware to Tallahassee with another ACC Championship! It was a great Saturday for FSU sports!
