FSU baseball (25-4, 8-2 ACC) got a big walk-off win on Friday night in front of a packed house against Wake Forest. Max Williams delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth to score Gage Harrelson from second base. Harrelson walked to lead off the inning, followed by a walk to Alex Lodise.

Jamie Arnold got the start and played with fire in the first couple of innings, running his pitch count up, but settled in and gave FSU five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, and two walks, and struck out 10 batters.
He left the game with a 4-0 lead behind a two-run home run by Alex Lodise and a two-run single by Cal Fisher. However, Chris Knier allowed two home runs in the top of the sixth without recording an out. Maison Martinez pitched an inning and allowed one hit, one earned run, two walks, and a strikeout.
The story of the game was Joe Charles pitching two innings without allowing a run in some high-leverage situations that he put himself into with walks. However, he had a huge strikeout to end the eighth inning as Wake Forest threatened with runners on second and third. Peyton Prescott pitched the ninth, allowing one walk and a strikeout.
FSU pitchers walked seven, allowed seven hits, and struck out 15. FSU batters had eight hits and only struck out six times against a high-powered pitching staff. They also drew seven walks and forced Wake Forest to make some excellent defensive plays.
FSU softball didn't show up on offense against the Virginia Cavaliers to suffer their first loss in ACC play. It was an embarrassing effort at the plate, striking out eight times, often watching strikes instead of swinging the bat. FSU pitchers allowed two earned runs on seven hits, no walks, and one strikeout. The loss was on the FSU offense looking like they were going through the motions.
FSU football will have its second scrimmage on Saturday, and it'll be much like the first one last week with coaches putting the players in different situations to see how they respond. FSU legacy recruit and former commit Devin Carter has scheduled an official visit to FSU in June.
