FSU FOOTBALL

I don't know if this has been discussed enough, but the Florida State football program beat the then-No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide in Doak Campbell Stadium this past Saturday afternoon by a score of 31-17.

This was an event that caused the college football landscape to enter into a frenzy. The Seminoles were supposed to continue embracing the "2-10" jokes forever by individuals such as ESPN's Paul Finebaum, Kirk Herbstreit, and Greg McElroy

However, the perception has changed around Tallahassee, as head football coach Mike Norvell is now seen as "the man with the plan" after acquiring the mastermind of an offensive coordinator, Gus Malzahn, behind the beating of the Crimson Tide.

AP POLL

The updated AP poll was released on Tuesday afternoon, and the fan base knew there was a chance the Seminoles could be included in it. I even dropped an article, thinking that the Seminoles would be rated around the 20th-best team in college football.

However, I was wrong, and I am not afraid to admit that. I couldn't believe that the polls have started showing love to the Seminoles. The updated AP poll has Florida State as the 14th-rated squad.

This is right behind the arch-rival Florida Gators as they are slated at No. 13. To be honest, the Gators are an unpredictable team with their difficult schedule. Then, they have the Miami Hurricanes ranked super high at No. 5 after their season-opening victory versus Notre Dame.

The Alabama Crimson Tide took a reality check as they are rated as the 21st-best team, which is their lowest ranking in quite some time. I can already hear the "Fire Kalen DeBoer" chants in the distance.

All in all, it is great to be a Florida State Seminole. It is awesome to see the squad's performance from Saturday being rewarded.
