Florida State QB legend gets disrespected in Heisman Trophy graphic snub

This is expected by the mass media.

Indiana just capped off an incredible 16-0 season, as they defeated the Miami Hurricanes on Monday night in the College Football Playoff National Championship. The job that head football coach Curt Cignetti has done with the Hoosiers has been incredible.

Hats off to them for doing the Florida State Seminoles a favor by beating an arch-rival and saving individuals from the obnoxious Hurricane fans on social media if they won.

Make no mistake about it, Florida State has been absolutely horrific over the past two seasons, where they have only been able to muster together seven wins in two years. That is not the standard of this program that is used to compete for championships.

Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was snubbed from yet another graphic

Florida State used to be at the top of the college football world in 2013 when former head football coach Jimbo Fisher and quarterback Jameis Winston were running the show. That squad was unstoppable for many teams.

When college football fans consider the best team of all-time, no one ever thinks about the 2013 Florida State team. It always seems to revolve around a 2001 Miami or 2019 LSU. However, quarterback Jameis Winston left a great impression on many across the country.

Winston was a polarizing figure that individuals either hated or loved, but he balled out during his 2013 redshirt freshman campaign, where he recorded 4,057 passing yards with 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions (according to StatsReference.com).

That was good enough for him to win the Heisman Trophy at the conclusion of the year. Then, to make matters even better, the Seminoles capped off a great season with a BCS National Championship victory over the Auburn Tigers by a score of 34-31.

The graphic that BleacherReport posted showed every Heisman Trophy winner since 2000 who won a national championship. And guess who wasn't included? That is right. Jameis Winston. The level of disrespect for the man, the myth, and the legend of Florida State.

Of course, BleacherReport had to showcase the love for Cam Newton, Devonta Smith, Fernando Mendoza, Derrick Henry, and Joe Burrow (all of whom played for the SEC and Big Ten). This isn't to say that this is the conference angle that the company was taking when they posted, but there was no sense in leaving Jameis Winston out of the graphic.
