There is snowy weather in Tallahassee as many Florida State fans enjoy the perks of having snow in the city. Everyone seems to be happy and full of energy to witness something that typically does not happen often.
The happiness continues for the Seminoles' men's basketball squad as well as they are currently sitting with a 13-5 record (4-3 in conference). Florida State will be taking on the 9-9 California Golden Bears on the road tonight at 9:00 PM EST on ACC Network.
It is always difficult playing so far away from home. To make matters worse, the Seminoles are only 1.5-point favorites in the game. Florida State is the winner of four out of its last five games. The momentum needs to keep happening if the Seminoles want to make it into the NCAA Tournament.
One of the biggest issues is that Florida State needs to secure more Quadrant 1 victories to show the selection committee that they are a real contender. After the California game, the Seminoles will have to face the Stanford Cardinal on the road trip on Saturday then will head back to Tallahassee on Wednesday, January 29th for a home matchup versus Virginia Tech.
The Seminoles need their dynamic duo of Jamir Watkins and Malique Ewin during this road trip to step up. Watkins and Ewin had 34 combined points in the win versus Georgia Tech. It also wouldn't hurt to have forward Taylor Bol Bowen continue his shooting performance where he had 20 points versus the Yellow Jackets.
Overall, Florida State cannot afford to slip up. They have to keep their eyes on the prize with their ultimate goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament.
