Florida State's men's basketball team will take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the friendly confines of the Tucker Center today at noon EST on ESPNU. The Yellow Jackets have limped to an 8-10 record, while the Seminoles have caught their stride with a 12-5 overall record.

Florida State and head coach Leonard Hamilton got a much-needed victory over Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. If the Seminoles want to make the NCAA Tournament, they need to have quality Quadrant 1 wins like that.

There is always talk about how great senior forward Jamir Watkins is, averaging 18.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Watkins is always reliable for the Seminoles when they need a basket, especially on Wednesday when he had a team-high 26 points.

However, the Seminoles need other pieces on their squad to step up. One player that I have been excited to watch this year was been forward, Malique Ewin. I am sure that everyone heard about the pushing and shoving in the post-game of Florida State and Pittsburgh. One of the events that set it off was Ewin dunking late in the contest and getting a little chippy with Pittsburgh players.

Ewin has shown a sense of aggression over the last couple of weeks where he has made it a priority to get to the basket. The talented forward had 18 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks in the win versus the Panthers.

Ewin has scored at least 15+ points in seven of his last nine games and looks like a man on a mission for the Seminoles as they do their best to make it to the Dance. I believe that the forward will have another massive performance versus Georgia Tech.

Be sure to come out and show Florida State some today at the Tuck! As always, Go Noles!
