Florida State's 2027 recruiting class has left plenty to be desired, as they are ranked as the No. 41st in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
This is not where the Seminoles' fan base wants to be, as they expect to be in the top ten, which is something that head coach Mike Norvell has never done during his tenure at Florida State. This is a concerning trend that needs to stop immediately.
The Seminoles got their quarterback prospect in three-star Logan Flaherty from Port Charlotte, Florida, which is important because signal-callers are typically "bell cows" in the class. However, quarterbacks are only as good as the weapons that they have around them.
Florida State needs to land four-star wide receiver target Ethan Kimmie
Florida State does not have a wide receiver prospect committed to its 2027 recruiting class. There shouldn't be a reason to panic because the Seminoles added six of them in last year's haul. However, that doesn't mean the position as a whole should be ignored.
Four-star Jabari Watkins from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia, not officially visiting Florida State anymore, was very disappointing. There is no way around trying to sugarcoat that recruitment.
However, the Seminoles seem to be putting too much pressure on themselves to land four-star wide receivers Sean Green and Cam Wade. Both Green and Wade are solid prospects, but they also have other schools going after them, and it's not a guarantee that Florida State lands them.
This means that the Seminoles could have to go back to backup options. One name to monitor is four-star Ethan Kimmie from Zachary, Louisiana, who Florida State offered on May 15th. According to a report from Noles247, Kimmie will be unofficially visiting Florida State on Sunday, May 31st.
This recruitment seems to be moving very quickly. Kimmie is listed as the 127th-best prospect, according to 247Sports rankings, and doesn't have any official visits scheduled.
I wonder if the wide receiver likes what he sees on the trip, then he will pull the trigger and commit to Florida State. That would be a huge boost for the Seminoles' recruiting efforts for the 2027 class.
