Florida State football has to continue to change the narrative around the offensive line. The Seminoles have struggled in that department for years. The program relieved assistant coach Alex Atkins of his duties after the 2024 season and ended up hiring UCF's Herb Hand.

Coach Hand has worked closely with offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn in the past, so the connection was there. Plus, Hand has been at plenty of Power Four programs developing talent at the offensive line.

He went heavily on acquiring offensive linemen in the transfer portal for the 2025 season. It panned out because the offensive line was solid last year. Pieces such as Luke Petitbon and Micah Pettus were the backbone of the unit.

Florida State has entered the picture for Georgia four-star offensive lineman commit Kelsey Adams

Even though Petitbon and Pettus were successful during their time at Florida State, the Seminoles need to focus on the high school recruits and develop homegrown talent for multiple years. It is great to get immediate starters, but at some point, they have to play the prospects that they recruit.

Florida State's coaching staff has been getting 2027 many prospects on campus during the January window. These Junior Days are important for them to develop long-lasting relationships and allow them to set up official visits for the summer that could lead to them committing to Florida State.

One offensive lineman that is currently on campus that the fan base needs to pay attention to is Class of 2027 four-star offensive tackle Kelsey Adams (Georgia commit) from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia.

Adams is listed at 6'5" and 293 pounds. Plus, he is listed as the 54th-best prospect in the 2027 cycle (according to 247Sports Composite rankings). This is someone that the staff needs to heavily pursue and change the narrative of the Seminoles' offensive line unit.
