Florida State football had a ton of suspense during the transfer portal window around getting a quarterback transfer or riding with youngster Kevin Sperry. The problem is that the Seminoles had to acquire more options to the roster for depth purposes anyway, since they only had two scholarship signal-callers.

Florida State hosted three transfers on campus that fans were talking about heavily: UNLV's Anthony Colandrea, Florida's DJ Lagway, and Auburn's Ashton Daniels. Ultimately, the Seminoles ended up choosing Daniels, which had a mixed bag of feelings from the fan base.

Then, Florida State got Lafayette's Dean DeNobile from the transfer portal. Both Daniels and DeNobile are seniors, so they are expected to help bridge the gap to support Kevin Sperry and Jaden O'Neal. The Seminoles have four options on the roster, but O'Neal looks to be dealing with an injury that could sideline him for a longer period of time.

Florida State is still looking at JUCO quarterback option Malachi Marshall

Florida State is still actively pursuing another option in the quarterback room with the additions of Daniels and DeNobile. One target that they are trying to get is three-star JUCO quarterback Malachi Marshall from Iowa Western Community College.

Marshall is considered the number one JUCO quarterback prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. According to MaxPreps, the signal-caller had 2,750 passing yards with 33 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. I believe that this would be a monumental grab for Florida State.

The quarterback decided to visit the Seminoles, even with the new additions on Saturday.

Marshall wasn't the visitor who took a trip to Florida State on Saturday, as Class of 2027 four-star quarterback Wonderful "Champ" Monds IV decided to come down for the Seminoles' Junior Day event.

Overall, it was a great day to have both signal-callers in town because former Florida State and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston was on campus with his younger brother (Jonah), who was conducting his official visit before he enrolls this summer.

This was a plus having Winston on campus for recruiting purposes because these prospects can see what it looks like to have success at Florida State.
