Week 4 is here across the college football landscape, and Florida State will be back to defend Doak Campbell Stadium after a loss in Tuscaloosa last week. The Seminoles have been unable to avoid odd circumstances this season, with a power outage delay during the last home game and multiple lightning delays against Alabama. Here's to hoping that this Week 4 clash against Central Arkansas is as normal a game as it can be.
Last week, the game against the Alabama Crimson Tide proved two things: Florida State can competently score against strong defenses, and the defense is a complete mess from top to bottom at the moment. The Seminoles looked like a team that could beat the Crimson Tide at times, but the direct result of each mistake that was made was too much to overcome.
Mistakes, costly errors, miscommunications, and blown assignments are what have been sinking the Seminoles this season. It might be a stretch to assume Florida State can turn all of that around for a week against Central Arkansas, but this game should allow the team to take a step in the right direction.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT in Tallahassee as coach Mike Norvell will face his alma mater on the gridiron.

Florida State vs. Central Arkansas prediction
Putting up new season-highs on offense but still losing the game can take the wind out of the Seminoles' sails, but I think this team will respond differently. Florida State needs a good, cohesive beatdown of another team to try and get back onto the right path. Central Arkansas may not be the best team, but the Seminoles need a big win regardless of the opponent.
The Bears have been two different teams through four games, with 95 points in the two wins and 23 points in the two losses. The potential to break off a few big plays is there, which is why Central Arkansas will likely not be shut out against the Florida State defense. The Seminoles still have a lot that needs to be fixed defensively, and generating a flawless performance does not seem likely after one week of practice.
Central Arkansas has struggled at times with defense equally, and opposing teams have been picking through the Bears' defense. The defense often plays very soft coverage, and the small connections can build up over time. With a team like Florida State standing in the way, Central Arkansas could be exposed over the top, which is exactly how West Florida defeated the Bears (14.6 YPR).
