Florida State softball was embarrassed by the Stanford Cardinals in a three-game series a month ago. Stanford swept the Noles to give them their only losses in the ACC, but the Noles exacted revenge on Friday afternoon with a 9-0 five-inning win in the ACC Tournament Semifinals.

Freshman Bella Dimitrijevic pitched four innings of one-hit ball, one walk, and four strikeouts. Ashtyn Daniels finished the final frame, but also did mad damage at the plate. Danley went 3-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Jaysoni Beachum went 1-2 with two RBI, and Isa Torres went 2-3 with three runs scored.

Freshman Makenna Sturgis continues to fill in well for Marin Heller at second base, going 2-2 with two runs scored.

It’s another major win for the Noles, as it will count as the second Quad 1 win in as many days. Florida State moved up one RPI spot to No. 12 after defeating Georgia Tech on Thursday. They will get another chance for a Quad 1 win, taking on the winner of the Virginia Tech/Duke game on Saturday.

FSU will definitely host a regional, but keep holding out hope for a top-eight spot, which would mean they would host Super Regionals before the Women’s College World Series (if they advanced that far).

Big win for the ladies as they look to secure their first ACC Tournament title since 2023.

It was a big moment for freshman Bella Dimitrijevic, who Lonni Alameda has been grooming for big moments all season. The confidence to start her against a team that had beaten FSU three times was bold, but paid off. It should serve as a major confidence booster for Dimitrijevic and the entire team when she's in the circle.

It was good to see the offense wake up after going dormant for much of the game agaisnt Georgia Tech on Thursday. FSU didn't face either Virginia Tech or Duke in the regular season. The ACC Tournament Finals will take place on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on the ACC Network.
