Florida State's 2027 recruiting class has the 60th-best in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles have ten commitments in the fold. They received good news with the recent pledges of four-star running back Jayden Miles, four-star wide receiver Sean Green, four-star linebacker Jernard Albright, three-star linebacker Olrick Johnson III, three-star defensive end Eric Vaulx Jr., and three-star defensive end Jaxon Holly.
They still have a way to go with securing a serviceable enough recruiting for the fan base. Florida State has never secured a top-ten recruiting class during the era of head coach Mike Norvell.
The Seminoles had a productive 2026 recruiting class that was headlined by the defensive trenches, where they landed eight linemen. This is something that I was glad to see from Florida State, especially after seeing Miami and head coach Mario Cristobal emphasize the importance of the trenches.
Florida State and Mike Norvell look to be moving fast to land three-star defensive end target Stevan Thornton III
Florida State will have two official visitors who will be taking a trip this weekend: Three-star defensive end Stevan Thornton III and three-star defensive back commit Jemari Foreman.
We already mentioned that it is important for the Seminoles to ensure that Louisville doesn't flip the services of Foreman. This could be a great time for Florida State to get momentum for the defensive back after four-star Mekhi Williams is going to Wisconsin.
Florida State already has three defensive linemen in the class with four-star Anthony Cavallaro, three-star Jaxon Holly, and three-star Eric Vaulx Jr. The Seminoles have crystal ball predictions in favor of four-star Sam LeJeune and three-star Jason Lewis (who has now been crystal-balled to Syracuse).
This would be five defensive linemen in the fold. Picking up LeJeune would be a great addition for the Seminoles. However, they are going after three-star defensive end Stevan Thornton III from Cairo, Georgia.
Thornton III is a prospect that Florida State just offered on June 17th. It is encouraging that the Seminoles have already planned a visit with him this weekend. It helps that the pass rusher had 91 tackles (20 for loss) and eight sacks during his junior season (according to MaxPreps).
