Florida State and Mike Norvell one step closer to landing top transfer portal target

This is becoming a nightmare for some of the fan base.

Florida State football is trying to get the best possible players in the transfer portal, so they can put the last two years in the past. Head football coach Mike Norvell and his squad want to see it translate to wins on the field.

The problem is that the quarterback transfer has not been kind to them over the past two cycles, with DJ Uiagalelei and Thomas Castellanos. Don't get me wrong, Castellanos stood on business and defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 1, but other than that, it was a mixed bag of results.

However, Coach Norvell is trying to turn that around this time, as the Seminoles hosted several quarterback transfers over the past couple of days with UNLV's Anthony Colandrea, Florida's DJ Lagway, and Auburn's Ashton Daniels.

The one that makes Florida State fans throw up in their mouth a little bit is Florida quarterback transfer DJ Lagway. This is for good reason since he is a signal-caller for the Seminoles' arch-rival, and he ended Florida State's bowl hopes.

To make matters worse, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has projected Florida quarterback transfer DJ Lagway to land at Florida State.

The fan base could be tired of seeing former five-star prospects named DJ in Tallahassee after the Uiagalelei experiment in 2024. However, the quarterbacks are starting to become slim in the market, and Florida State needs to at least build depth and competition in the room.

When Lagway announced that he would be visiting the Seminoles' campus, fans were hesitant, given his turnovers. This might be a time when he can reset himself with a change of scenery.
