Florida State and Brayden Dowd look to get the series victory over NC State

This would be a great series victory over North Carolina State.

Florida State baseball opened this weekend with a series over North Carolina State at home. The Wolfpack is a formidable opponent that can make you pay. The Seminoles know that every series isn't going to be a sweep like it was against Wake Forest (it would be great if it were).

Head coach Link Jarrett and his squad had North Carolina State on the ropes after the Myles Bailey home run in Game 1 of the series on Friday night before falling down the stretch. Coach Jarrett knew that his team had to collect itself and deliver.

For that to happen, his offense needed timely hitting, and that is exactly what they got on Saturday in Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles defeated the Wolfpack 11-5, forcing a Game 3 to determine the series winner.

Florida State's baseball team has to keep the momentum against the ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack

Florida State baseball needs this confidence booster of the series victory over North Carolina State, going into their Tuesday night matchup against the arch-rival Florida Gators. Maybe this is the time they need to lose and go in hungry, because the last time they played the Gators, they swept Wake Forest in a series and got overwhelmed on the road against Florida.

Nonetheless, Brayden Dowd gave Florida State's lead some cushion, as he connected on a grand slam to give the Seminoles a 9-4 advantage in the sixth inning. This grand slam allowed the Seminoles to tack on two additional runs in support.

It is nice to see that Florida State has more power in the lineup when it doesn't just involve infielder Myles Bailey. Speaking of Bailey, he hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to break the tie at 4. He has been dangerous at the plate for opposing pitchers.

Be sure to come down to the ball park at 1:00 PM EST to watch the Seminoles potentially win the series against the Wolfpack.
