Florida State has arguably the best win nationally, a 31-17 win over Alabama in the season opener. It has two more wins over lesser opponents, but those games have been absolute demolitions, with FSU scoring 21 and 35 points in the first quarter in both games. FSU has averaged 71 points in the last two games, including mostly reserve players getting the majority of the snaps in four of those eight quarters.
Other teams have played inferior competition and have not dominated like the Noles. It’s one reason why ESPN analyst Booger McFarland gave the Noles major props via his social media account on Saturday night:
3 best teams I’ve seen so far this season

Miami
Oregon
Florida St
Oregon is 4-0, but has not played anyone with a pulse in those four games. Miami beat Notre Dame and USF, but neither of those teams is close to as good as Alabama.
FSU appears to be a team that can score at will against anyone, with Thomas Castellanos at quarterback. They have a stout offensive line that can establish the running game, and capable running backs who can break tackles, make explosive runs, and catch passes out of the backfield.

FSU has good tight ends and receivers who can take the top off of a defense. I have some questions about the FSU defense, but they will likely play well enough to beat anyone as long as the offense continues to play at its current level.
FSU will have a solid test for its first road game next Friday night against undefeated Virginia. They have an explosive offense, and if the defense can keep them in check, that will answer the questions I have remaining.
