FSU football coaches have a solid recruiting board when it comes to the quarterback position in the 2027 recruiting cycle. They have offered several top players and have gotten many to take unofficial visits.
One big-time target is blue-chip quarterback Israel Abrams. He was taking a round of unofficial visits to the schools listed among his top five. FSU got him on campus Tuesday, and it sounds like the visit went well:
@Seminoles did not disappoint. Thank you to the entire @FSUFootball staff for showing me and my family love. @Coach_Norvell passion and energy is real and unmatched. Thank you @CoachTuckerQB for taking the time to talk ball and watch film. I’m looking forward to getting back to… pic.twitter.com/eaOOhkq0lq

We'll see if FSU can land a big time player like this or not.
The significance of the visit can’t go unstated since Abrams is the only quarterback who has set up an official visit with Florida State this summer. He plans to take the official visit on June 12th, with 16 other recruits that weekend.
He must be fairly high on their board since he’s the first and only quarterback with an official visit. Abrams ranks as the No. 44 player and No. 3 quarterback nationally. He’s the No. 2 player in Illinois. Ironically, FSU recently offered another top quarterback from that state, Jake Nawrot, who’s the No. 40 player and No. 2 quarterback nationally.
There’s a lot to like about Abrams. He has won two state titles. He has a strong arm but can throw with touch and has some mobility.
FSU has landed some blue-chip quarterbacks in the past under Mike Norvell, but Abrams would probably be the best of bunch and more polished than Luke Kromenhoek a couple of years ago. I'm still skeptical on spending a ton of money on high school quarterbacks because the ROI hasn't been there for most schools. If they can sign him, great. If not, it's not the end of the world.
