Don't worry about Jeremiah Wilson being late for any team meetings this season because the Houston transfer makes it a habit to be the earliest to the facility every morning.

Wilson has a process and that includes getting up with the chickens to get the football and prepare himself for the day. It's something the Kissimmee native has done since high school.

""I get in here about 5:30 a.m. every day. Wake up 5:15, brush my teeth, say my prayers and get ready to go. "I just get into the training room, stretch out a little bit, get my mind right, eat breakfast and watch a little tape upstairs before we start meetings.""

The routine has worked for Wilson, who started his college football career at Syracuse and eventually transferred to Houston before making it to Tallahassee. By the time Wilson entered the transfer portal at the end of the 2024 season, he was considered one of the top defensive players available.

"At Syracuse, it was the funniest because I used to get there at like 4:30, it was pouring snow," Wilson said. "I get my boots, walk through the snow at four in the morning, get to the facility and do a workout before the workout. That was back when I was young though...I'm still young but I get treatment now. I don't get to work out now. I get treatment and watch film."

Wilson's personality is infectious and so is his work ethic. As he arrives at the facility early in the morning, he sees many of his teammates in the secondary join him. During his media session, Wilson specifically mentioned Edwin Joseph, Earl Little Jr. and Quindarrius Jones. And, of course, wide receivers Duce Robinson and true freshman Jayvan Boggs.

This is the culture fit that Norvell was hoping he would have with this year's team. Wilson is a natural personality that clearly loves the game and wants to make the most of the opportunity. His commitment to getting to the building first each day is exactly the type of effort Norvell is looking for. For players like Wilson, there is a process to winning and being successful. He is the kind of leader that the Seminoles need this season.
