FSU FOOTBALL FALL CAMP
Florida State Seminoles look to prove the doubters wrong after the program finished with a 2-10 record in 2024. It is a dangerous proposition to prove individuals wrong after they did that during the entire offseason after being snubbed from the College Football Playoff in favor of Alabama.
This is a different story this time around as the program is facing off against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the season opener. Some of the fan base have given up on head football coach Mike Norvell and how he "hypes up players" to the media.
This is unfortunate because I do believe that Norvell is a solid coach and think that 2024 was an outlier. I bleed Garnet and Gold, so I never envisioned 2-10 to be a possibility at Florida State, where the expectation is to compete for conference and national championships.
The offense was a main issue from last season, where they averaged 15.2 points per game. They brought several pieces to fix that side of the football, such as wide receivers Duce Robinson and Jayvan Boggs. They have received plenty of praise this offseason from a variety of players on the roster.
Former Houston defensive back transfer Jeremiah Wilson spoke highly of the two to the media recently by stating the following:
"15 (Jayvan Boggs) is cold. He's gonna be something serious. He is a pro. His hands are pro, he has a pro body, and a pro mindset. Duce Robinson is a pro. He is in here early. Big frame. He works hard, has good hands, and good routes. Two pros that we have right now that should be in the NFL that we have on our team. "Wilson on Jayvan Boggs and Duce Robinson
Both Robinson and Boggs were players that the Seminoles prioritized this offseason. It is a good sign that many players have been encouraged by Boggs, who is only a true freshman and has been on campus just a few months. The Cocoa native recorded 4,500 yards and 45 touchdowns over the past two high school seasons.
Robinson is a transfer from USC who is listed at 6'6", whose father used to play with the Seminoles. He is looking to be a primary option that quarterback Thomas Castellanos can rely to high point the football and keep the chains moving.
