FSU baseball surprised everyone with its dramatic turnaround last season. Link Jarrett took the Noles from one of the worst teams in 2023 to a top contender to win a National Title in 2024, making the College World Series for the first time since Mike Martin Sr's. final year in 2019.
FSU was the final undefeated team in 2024 and was one controversial call away from going into the driver's seat in Omaha.
However, the lack of pitching depth ultimately sealed their fate as they lost to the eventual national champions for the second time to get eliminated.
FSU lost nearly half of its offensive production from a year ago but returned some promising talent and made some key acquisitions from the transfer portal.
They return arguably the best pitcher in college baseball, Jamie Arnold, the only unanimous Preseason All-American going into the 2025 season. Link Jarrett used the transfer portal to bolster the rotation and bullpen to eliminate the pitching issues that cost them a year ago.
Jarrett commented this year's team is likely more athletic defensively, and scoring runs could look different on offense with the departure of two first-round draft picks and several others drafted in the first four rounds.
He expects pitching to be a strength, and it's likely why FSU baseball is among several top 10 preseason rankings. The guys out in the desert (via FanDuel) believe in this FSU team, as they have them among 10 teams with the best odds to win the 2025 National Title.

Of all the teams that haven't won a National Title, FSU baseball is the most due, with 24 College World Series appearances and four runner-ups. It was the only thing missing in Mike Martin Sr.'s list of accomplishments and I know his former player would like nothing more than to win that first title for him and FSU baseball.
The Noles will get its 2025 season underway when they host James Madison for a three-game series starting on Friday, February 14th, at 5 p.m. ET.
