It won’t be long before we hear the sounds of aluminum bats and gloves popping as baseballs make contact. The Florida State Seminoles will once again tackle the quest of bringing that elusive College World Series Title back to Tallahassee.

As with any program with big-time talent, FSU had to reload after losing several guys in the 2025 MLB Draft. FSU tied a record with 11 guys going to play professionally, including its best pitcher and hitter, Jamie Arnold and Alex Lodise.

However, FSU returns some key players from last year's team, and used the transfer portal, along with a few players from high school and JUCO ranks, to put together another team with the quest to make history for the program.

According to Fanduel.com, FSU has the sixth-best odds to win the 2026 College World Series:

  • LSU: +650
  • UCLA: +1000
  • Tennessee: +1500
  • Texas: +1500
  • Arkansas: +1600
  • Georgia: +1600
  • Mississippi State: +1800
  • North Carolina: +2200
  • Florida State: +2200
  • Auburn: +2500
  • Oregon State: +2500

Florida State should have the talent to be in the mix late in the postseason. We'll see if they can finally put it all together to make history for this program with a CWS Title

If you bet $100 on Florida State right now and the won the College World Series, you'd win $2,200. That's a long time to tie up $100, but it would be a heck of an ROI. FSU head coach Link Jarrett spoke with the media recently and fills good about the team overall.

They are banged up at the catcher position and they're working through different combinations at other positions. The early part of the season will be key in getting the right players at the right positions.

They have a lot of pitching depth, good athleticism on defense, but I'm not sure they'll have the same firepower with the homerun ball as in the past couple of years. There's potential with some guys, but they'll have to take that next step in their development.

Link Jarrett is excellent at putting the right pieces together to maximize their chances to win. The season gets underway on Friday, February 13th, against James Madison at 5 p.m.
