Florida State's football team did not perform well in 2024, having a 2-10 record. However, players such as defensive back Azareye'h Thomas, defensive tackle Joshua Farmer, and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald have made their presence known in what was a dark time for the football program.
I already mentioned in a previous article that Thomas was mocked by Pro Football Network as the 34th overall pick by the New York Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft.
While I know that the Giants are not the premier power in the NFL at this time, it has to be a dream come true for Thomas as he looks to have a sustainable career in the professional ranks.
Thomas, as well as defensive tackle Joshua Farmer and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald, were expected to make appearances in the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl. However, it looks like the defensive back will not be playing in today's Senior Bowl.
This is an understandable concern to play in the exhibition game because you don't want to see Thomas get injured and ruin his late first/early second-round draft grade. The Niceville product had a phenomenal three-year playing career with the Seminoles.
He recorded 95 tackles (nine for loss), 15 pass deflections, and two interceptions. Thomas showed what he was made of during his college career. Plus, individuals saw what the length cornerback could do when Senior Bowl practices rolled around.

Thomas had a one-handed snag in Senior Bowl practices and has been getting buzz for the early portion of the 2025 NFL Draft. It was noticed that defensive back Azareye'h Thomas was not listed on the roster for the Senior Bowl.

Teams across the league more than likely understand how Thomas plays as a player and probably do not want him to get hurt in an exhibition. The scouting combine and pro day (as well as the interviews) are likely more important to those NFL teams.
I know that it is disappointing to not see Thomas out there, but is understandable due to the injury risk. Nonetheless, I am excited to see Farmer and Fitzgerald get their opportunity to shine.
