MORE GOOD NEWS ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE
Florida State secured a commitment from Class of 2026 unranked offensive lineman Luke Francis from Coral Gables Senior High School in Florida to its class. The trench monster is originally from England.
The Seminoles currently have the 23rd-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. This is not where the program wants to be, but I expect there to be more good news, as I indicated in a recent article.
THOUGHTS ON THE FSU CLASS
I like the recruiting class for the Seminoles. They currently have fifteen prospects pledged to them. However, high school recruiting has ebbs and flows, so it would be expected that Florida State suffers a couple of de-commitments and new commitments along the way.
Let's just hope that Florida State doesn't have another 2-10 season to show its high school recruits that want to see the Seminoles be successful on the gridiron. With that said, the coaching staff had several highly-touted prospects on campus this weekend for official visits.
Florida State offensive line coach Herb Hand grabbed a talented offensive lineman prospect in Luke Francis, who is expected to be on the interior. The Seminoles already have three-star offensive tackle Xavier Payne (we will see what happens with him and Syracuse) and three-star interior offensive lineman Michael Ionata in the fold.
The Seminoles also had four-star offensive tackle Ben Mubenga from Buford, Georgia, on campus this weekend, who I am a big fan of. He had completed official visits to Georgia Tech, Arkansas, and North Carolina State before coming to Tallahassee.
However, I believe that Florida State and Coach Herb Hand hold the advantage if they decide to give him the "green light". He met with the Seminoles' media after the trip and stated that he will likely announce his decision either on July 7th or the 14th.
This could be a massive development for a position group that needs to continue to grow and develop with sizable talent. Mubenga would be a good piece to build around for the future.
