Florida State football has recently added three-star cornerback Antonio Cromartie Jr. to its 2025 recruiting class. The Seminoles were thought to be heavily pursuing transfers in the portal. However, they have made it known that they are trying to acquire high school talent as well.

The Seminoles had a productive Early Signing Period once head football coach Mike Norvell decided to fire his old assistant coaches and bring it a group of experienced coaches.

This seems to be a make-it-or-break-it for Norvell and Florida State in 2025, so the thought process is that he needs to win as the expectations are high in Tallahassee.

Honestly, one of the biggest issues with Florida State finishing with a 2-10 record is the fact that its trenches, especially on the offensive line, were very disappointing. The Seminoles' fan base and coaches thought that the unit would be a strength in 2024 with it being as veteran as it was.

However, the offensive line continued to struggle, and it was one of the reasons that offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins was relieved of his duties. Then the Seminoles decided to bring in former UCF offensive line coach Herb Hand to man the unit.

Florida State has acquired some nice pieces via the transfer portal and the recruiting ranks with Mario Nash Jr., Sean Poret, Luke Petitbon, Micah Pettus, Gunnar Hansen, and Adrian Medley.

On Wednesday night, the Seminoles received more good news as Class of 2025 three-star interior offensive lineman Chavez "Sandman" Thompson from Cocoa, Florida has committed to Florida State.

Thompson was a high school teammate with four-star wide receiver signee Jayvan Boggs. The talented offensive lineman came to officially visit the Seminoles this past weekend and loved everything about it. Thompson is listed at 6'1" and 310 pounds and will more than likely be utilized at the center position.

The three-star prospect was originally committed to Oregon then he de-committed from there and pledged to FIU early this month. However, when the Seminoles came calling, it looked like Thompson couldn't resist the garnet and gold.
