FSU football continues to add to its 2025 high school recruiting class. A few days ago, I wrote about four guys FSU could add between now and National Signing Day. FSU added one of those guys Monday night when Antonio Cromartie Jr. announced his commitment to the Noles.
Cromartie took his official visit to FSU over the weekend, and another major target has scheduled his official visit to FSU before National Signing Day.
Four-star 2025 offensive tackle Chastan Brown will officially visit FSU on January 25th, only a few days before National Signing Day. Brown has been a recruit I've been keeping tabs on since he de-committed from UCF after Gus Malzahn resigned to become the offensive coordinator at FSU.
He was also committed to Herb Hand. He was the offensive line coach at UCF and is now in the same position at FSU after following Malzahn.
Brown has been very pro-FSU on social media since those guys transitioned and it seemed like a logical choice since he was committed to UCF and probably would have signed there in December if they remained there as coaches.
He was the first player Herb Hand offered after getting hired by FSU. He took official visits to Pitt, Louisville, and UCF over last summer.
Recruiting is a crazy game and anything can happen, but Brown is a guy I've expected in this 2025 recruiting class for a while. The official visit should put the finishing touches and make him the third high school offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class.
If he commits, I wouldn't expect much from him in 2026, but he's a player with tremendous upside if he develops.
