I previously wrote a piece discussing how some of the fan base is worried about the transfer portal acquisitions during the spring window for the Seminoles. Plot twist, I did not express concerns behind the lack of pickups since undergraduate transfers have until April 25th to enter the portal.

I seem to be on the right track with my thought process, as Florida State football is back at it again on Saturday afternoon, as they offered another wide receiver transfer portal prospect in San Jose State redshirt junior wide receiver TreyShun Hurry.

Hurry announced the offer via Twitter (X) that he had received an offer from the Seminoles.

The wide receiver position is something that a portion of the fan base is starting to worry about since playmakers such as Hykeem Williams, Jordan Scott, and Jalen Brown have entered the transfer portal.

Plus, the Seminoles made contact with Illinois State wide receiver Xavier Loyd, who recently entered the portal. He had a solid 2024 campaign where he recorded 66 receptions for 912 yards and six touchdowns. However, he went on a visit to Missouri and decided to commit to the Tigers.

The coaching staff is having to pivot to other options. There haven't been much wide receivers that have entered the portal. One name that some of the fans on social media mention is Miami's Ny Carr, who only recorded one reception for eight yards in 2024.

The Seminoles recruited him out of high school, but we saw that the process of acquiring due to potential instead of production went last year.

Speaking of the San Jose redshirt junior wide receiver transfer, he is listed at 6'2" and 194 pounds from Palmdale, California. He had 28 catches for 482 yards and two touchdowns during the 2024 season.

He made his impression during the final three games of the year, where he had 11 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown combined versus Boise State, Stanford, and USF. It should also be known that San Jose State had one of the best wide receivers in the country with Nick Nash, who had 1,382 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Plus, the Spartans had senior wide receiver Justin Lockhart, who had 983 yards and five touchdowns. There was steady improvement from Hurry as he elevated his yardage from 384 in 2023 to 482 in 2024. There is competition in his recruitment as he has received offers from Baylor, Miami, USF, Louisville, BYU, and West Virginia.
