Having Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" referenced in the title of this article seemed appropriate with how this offseason has transpired for the Florida State Seminoles' football program.

When it rains, it pours. The 2024 recruiting class has been constantly taking hit-after-hit, where there will eventually be no one else. This is a football program that has won a combined seven games in two years, and they haven't even won a road game since the 2023 matchup against the Florida Gators.

I never envisioned Florida State football getting to this point, but here we are. Ever since the Seminoles experienced the College Football Playoff snub in favor of a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide squad, it has gone downhill in a hurry.

Head football coach Mike Norvell has experienced quite the roller coaster ride during his tenure in Tallahassee. Some fans don't even believe that he should be employed with the Seminoles.

While I am not here to discuss the topic, there have been bright spots during his time here, which including the construction of the 2024 recruiting class. The group of prospects was the best that he had constructed while with the Seminoles.

Florida State lost another member of the recruiting class on Sunday, as former four-star offensive lineman Manasse Itete announced that he would be entering the transfer portal.

Whenever former General Manager Darrick Yray took the position at UCLA and left Florida State, this was a situation where offensive lineman Manasse Itete would eventually transfer out of the Seminoles' program.

A huge reason for Itete choosing Florida State during his recruitment process was because of his connection with Yray. The talented offensive lineman played high school football in the state of California, where Yray had several relationships in the area.

This was probably a recruitment that the Seminoles never would've gotten if Yray was not employed on staff. Once he left, it almost became a "nail in the coffin" that Itete would transfer out.
