The number of FSU football players entering the transfer portal continues to grow as we approach the portal's opening in early January. The number planning to leave has already surpassed 10 players, and the latest to announce intentions to enter the portal is another FSU legacy player.
FSU redshirt freshman wide receiver Camdon Frier:

The son of former FSU receiver Matt Frier, CamdonFrier was a part of the 2024 recruiting class, which is the highest-ranking recruiting class in the Mike Norvell era. However, that class continues to look less and less impressive as more and more players from that class leave the program without making any impact.
Frier was a four-star recruit for most of his recruitment before falling to a high-end three-star composite before signing with FSU. He spent most of his FSU career injured, redshirting in 2024 and only seeing action in two games in 2025. He played against East Texas A&M and against Wake Forest and never recorded a reception while at FSU.
The fact that Frier couldn’t get on the field during two of the worst back-to-back seasons likely signaled he wasn’t going to contribute with so much young talent at the receiver position.
FSU signed one of the better wide receiver recruiting classes last week. Lawayne McCoy and Micahi Danzy look like they have solidified themselves as dudes over the next two years.
Frier had a nice skillset and good burst for the slot position, but it just wasn't meant to be with all of the injuries. Here's to hoping he finds a good home to flourish.
