Florida State football will not have a spring game this year for the second straight time, and I would be lying if I told you that the fan base wasn't disappointed by the result. While spring games are going extinct in the game right now, there are still teams holding them.
Auburn conducted its spring game on Saturday, and it had a bag of mixed results. This was expected since they hired a new head coach in Alex Golesh that come from South Florida. Sometimes, when you hire a Group of Five coach, they will bring their old quarterback over to lessen the pressure of the most important position learning the offense.
The Tigers have high expectations of their program, but have been struggling as of late, just like Florida State. The two teams competed in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, and it feels like a century ago.
Quarterback transfer Byrum Brown looked rough at Auburn's spring game
Nonetheless, Auburn fans got to see new transfer quarterback Byrum Brown in action during the spring game, and it wasn't pretty, as Brown completed 7 of his 14 passes for 85 yards and two interceptions.

Tristan Ti'a
15-20, 179 yards, TD, INT
Byrum Brown
7-14, 85 yards, 2 INT
Locklan Hewlett
4-7, 65 yards, INT
Rhys Brush
3-5, 32 yards
One of the interceptions was a no-look pass. It was not the best performance from Brown, who is more known for his dual-threat ability as a signal-caller. Nonetheless, head coach Alex Golesh decided to let former quarterback Ashton Daniels enter the transfer portal in favor of Byrum Brown, and this is how he performs.
This isn't saying that Daniels is a better quarterback right now because technically, he hasn't even won the starting job in Tallahassee. However, head coach Mike Norvell has complemented Daniels' veteran leadership and his improved deep ball this spring.
If Daniels can show the flashes that he had last season against Vanderbilt and Alabama, Florida State could win the acquisition of Ashton Daniels.
