Florida State basketball had a solid first year under new head coach Luke Loucks, where they won eleven of their last fifteen games. The Seminoles were thought to be one of the worst teams in the conference after their blowout loss to North Carolina State, but they really started to turn it around.
The squad was led by senior guard Robert McCray V and senior forward Chauncey Wiggins. The team needs a new direction and wants a better way to accomplish that than to get an infusion of talent via the transfer portal.
Coach Loucks needs his teams to get out in transition and shoot a ton of perimeter shots offensively. The Seminoles were starting to find their rhythm at the end of the year, where they had the number one-ranked Duke Blue Devils on the brink of elimination in the ACC Tournament.
Missouri guard Anthony Robinson II will be visiting Florida State today
Florida State will be hosting a visitor on campus today in Missouri guard Anthony Robinson II. The talented playmaker averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game with the Tigers last season (according to ESPN Stats and Information).
Robinson II is from Tallahassee, Florida, and went to Florida State University High School in the city. The 6'3' guard would be a welcoming sight to a roster that needs to reload for Coach Loucks's second season in Tallahassee.
Robinson II was utilized as more of a scoring option early on with the Tigers, where he recorded double-digit points in nine of the first fifteen games of the 2025 season. Missouri lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes, but he played well, recording 11 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Robinson II shot 31.4% from three-point range last year, but he converted on 40% of them in 2024, so the junior guard is capable of knocking down perimeter shots when needed. This will likely come down to a Florida State-Miami battle for him, since his former Missouri head coach, Charlton Young, is on the Hurricanes' staff as an Associate Coach.
