5-star FSU football commit seems to be locked in even after Pitt loss

Well, this is encouraging to see...

FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITS

Florida State football recruiting is sitting with the 13th-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite. This is not where the Seminole fan base wants to be, as head football coach Mike Norvell has never secured a top ten recruiting class during his tenure.

Individuals thought this could be the year that Florida State accomplishes that feat, especially after they beat Alabama in the season opener. However, the sour taste of three straight losses has the fan base looking for the coaching staff to be fired.

Oh, how quickly things can change.

CHAUNCEY KENNON SPEAKS

One of the top recruits in the Seminoles' recruiting class is five-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon from Sarasota, Florida. Several schools tried to secure his services, but Florida State won out in the end of the decision.

Kennon has been a loyal member of the Seminoles' recruiting class, where he even revealed that he has a Florida State tattoo on his body. As we all know, tattoos can be removed, but it is a painful process.

The defensive back prospect went on social media after the Seminoles' loss to Pittsburgh.

This statement is spoken as if the five-star recruit is a lifelong fan. This is cool to see Kennon talking about loyalty. In today's landscape of college football recruiting, it seems to always be about the dollar signs, rather than the genuine connections and relationships that they build.

The losing streak shows that there could be prospects in Florida State's recruiting class who choose to de-commit from the program. Nonetheless, wherever the defensive back ends up signing in December (unless it is Miami or Florida), we at Chop Chat wish him nothing but the best.
